lisamichelle fashion couture biography

A native of Los Angeles, Lisa Felsenthal always had a great love of the fashion and art that surrounded her. While studying fine arts and art history at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, she created a series of sculptures based on connections between fashion and architecture. After an acclaimed public exhibition, she decided to explore her love of fashion to a greater extent. She studied fashion design at Otis College of Art and Design, while simultaneously interning for designers Michelle Mason and Jeremy Scott. As a design student at Otis, she received numerous awards, including a Rosalind Gilbert award for eveningwear, a Fashion Group International award, and her designs were selected to be featured in the windows of Neiman Marcus during her junior and senior years.

Before launching her first spring collection for 2008, Lisa designed for Rozae Nichols and Monique Lhuillier. She set out to find the finest European fabrics and trims to use for her collection. Inspired by the unique beauty of these fabrics, she artfully designed a collection of women´s clothing with meticulous detail to construction and finishing, both inside and out. The collection is composed of feminine, flattering silhouettes that embody a spirit of optimism and playfulness, and reflect the unique individuality of the wearer.
